We have been living in our home for 3 years now and some areas in our home need a makeover and a little attention. I’ve decided to try and work at doing one room at a time – starting with my living room. It’s the room in our house that has always bothered me because it tends to be used as a walk-though room to get to our back yard.
Here are some photos of the room before I got my hands on it!
As you can see, there is a photo wall (which I love), a buffet and two antique chairs that sit along one side of the room. Our chesterfield couches will be staying where they are, and the antique dresser that you can see in the photo is currently for sale on Gumtree – as much as I hate to get rid of it, I just can’t seem to find a place for it in our home.
My vision for this room is to create an area that is comfortable to sit in with a coffee, reading a magazine while I’m watching the kids play outside. So I can see them but I don’t have to hear them!!! Ha ha ha. I decided that the main elements I needed to buy to finish off this room, was a floor rug, coffee table, cushions for couches and something for the corner where the dresser is.
My first stop was freedom furniture. I love Freedom Furniture for their home wares and once there I enlisted the help of one of the assistants who was fantastic! I gave her a brief description of what I was looking for and together we came up with a few options. I walked out of there with most of what was on my list plus more! Unfortunately some items are on order and they won’t be in for a few weeks. So I need to be patient!
Here is a sneak peek of some of my purchases …
Ottoman from Freedom & Apple from Bed Bath & Table
Cushions from Freedom
Runner, Bowl & Natures Bits from Freedom
Floor Rug From Freedom
Dome from Spotlight filled with Natures Bits from Freedom.
The big reveal is yet to come!!! Stay tuned!!!
