As long as I can remember I have always loved everything creative. I have my mum to thank for this. My mum and I crave anything crafty. We have been to classes for just about everything. Just to name a few – folk art, teddy bear making, embroidery, cross stitch, quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, pottery, card making and of course scrapbooking. We have sewn rag dolls, teddies, clothes, cushion and patchwork quilts. We’ve knitted scarfs, crocheted blankets and embroidered baby blankets. We painted wall plaques, wooden stools and boxes. We have made cards, paper crafts and invitations. And these are the things I can remember!
We also share another passion- cooking. Cooking for us is a way we bring family together. We love collecting and trying out new recipes as well as making the traditional recipes passed on from my beautiful Nonna. When I cook I always think of her. I miss not being able to pick up the phone to ask her for one for her delicious recipes. But now I ring my mum and she is just as good at cooking as my Nonna was. We always look forward to our weekly family dinner.
My mum is amazing not only is she my best friend she has this natural flare of putting things together and making them work. She will often come over and help me rearrange furniture or ornaments and then she’ll say ‘See doesn’t that look better’ and of course it does! So thanks Mum I love you!
